What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing allows you to promote your products and services, via a network of website owners, who have chosen to offer your products to their users in exchange for money when a certain action is reached (enquiry or order are the most common). The affiliates do the legwork by building readership and then exposing the visitors on their websites/blogs/email lists, to your goods.
Why is affiliate marketing important?
Affiliate marketing is important because it allows you to reach a broader range of potential clients with your products and services; without up-front costs (apart from those associated with setting the program up).
Affiliates are only paid after the sale of your product has been completed, or a specified action has been completed (for example an enquirey has been made), so it is a very low risk / cost effective method of online marketing.
